Raya Khas: From Family Legacy to a Scalable Automotive Enterprise with Structured Leadership

Raya Khas Autohub is a second-generation family business in the automotive sector, specializing in remanufacturing, fabrication, and the supply of light and heavy vehicles. Despite carrying forward legacy experience and holding an Approved Permit (AP) license, the business faced fragmented operations, misaligned teams, and inconsistent leadership. Real transformation only came after engaging business strategy consulting support from RichWorks Consulting Group (RCG), where structured systems, a mindset shift, and strong team culture were introduced.

“I thought my education would prepare me to run a business, but without leadership clarity and team structure, it remained stagnant. Real growth came when I chose to unlearn and rebuild with strategic guidance.”

Before joining RichWorks, I believed that my academic and teaching background would equip me to run a business. But stepping into management brought resistance, financial roadblocks, and a confidence-crushing rejection from a bank manager. These experiences revealed that I lacked the tools to scale sustainably—especially in a competitive, evolving industry.

My breakthrough came when I joined a RichWorks Consulting Group program during the pandemic, followed by the SPIRE and Titanium mentorships. Through SME-focused business consulting, I implemented structured systems, rebuilt team culture, and introduced leadership rituals like daily declarations and regular town halls. Most importantly, I realized the need to lead with clarity and consistency.

We enhanced our after-sales service, prioritized customer satisfaction, and secured over 150 testimonials. With ongoing mentorship and organizational change consulting, we developed a stronger leadership bench, refined financial tracking, and were named the Top Sales Contributor for PEKEMA Sarawak in 2023.

Today, I lead a business that is not only growing in numbers, but also grounded in strong culture and leadership accountability. The lessons I’ve gained go far beyond vehicles—they’re about stepping into my role as a leader and committing to structured mentorship for long-term, strategic growth.
