Even as a child, Dr. Samhan showed grit beyond his years. The eldest of seven, he spent afternoons helping his grandmother sell chickens, ducks, and vegetables at Pasir Pasir Mas, Kelantan. By nine, he was managing money, collecting leftover produce, and finding creative ways to earn—lessons in perseverance and responsibility that would shape his future.
Academically, his path wasn’t smooth. After excelling in Matriculation College, he faced a major setback during his third year of medical studies and was unable to continue the programme. Undeterred, he made the bold decision to pursue his medical degree at Tanta University in Egypt.
These experiences didn’t just teach him medicine—they taught him resilience, empathy, and the drive to understand the human story behind every patient.
